Complete Guide
Everything you need to know to create, personalise, and share a stunning digital invitation — from wedding to housewarming.
A digital invitation does what a paper card cannot — it's always with the guest (on their phone), it lets them RSVP with one tap, and it updates in real time if plans change. The best digital invitations on AlwaysYou share three qualities:
✨
A beautiful first screen
The cover screen is the first thing guests see. Choose a photo of the couple or family, and write a warm opening message.
📍
Clear event details
Date, time, venue name, full address, and a Google Maps link. Guests should never have to ask where or when.
🎵
Background music (optional but magical)
A familiar song playing softly as guests read your invitation creates an emotional moment. Use our royalty-free library or upload your own licensed track.
Each AlwaysYou invitation template is designed for a specific occasion. Here's a quick guide:
| Template | Best for | Mood |
|---|---|---|
| 💒 Wedding Invitation | The big day — reception, wedding ceremony | Elegant, timeless |
| 💃 Sangeet Night | Sangeet, Mehndi, Cocktail evening | Festive, musical |
| 💍 Engagement | Ring ceremony, Roka | Romantic, intimate |
| 🎂 Birthday Bash | Milestone birthdays, grand celebrations | Luxurious, fun |
| 👶 Baby Shower | Baby shower, Godh Bharai | Soft, sweet, whimsical |
| 🪔 Griha Pravesh | Housewarming, Vastu Puja | Traditional, auspicious |

After choosing a template and selecting a plan, you'll reach the creation form. Fill it out section by section:
Names & Photo
Enter the name(s) of the people being celebrated. For weddings and engagements, upload a couple photo — square format works best. This appears prominently on the cover screen.
Event Details
Enter the event date, time, venue name, and full address. Paste a Google Maps link — guests can tap it to get directions.
Your message
Write a short personal message (1–3 sentences). Something warm: "Together with our families, we joyfully invite you…" — a personal touch always resonates.
Dress code (optional)
Specify the dress code if your event has one. This reduces guest anxiety and makes photos look cohesive.
Contact number
Add a phone number guests can call if they get lost or have questions.
Auto-save is always on. You can close the tab and come back later — your progress is saved.
Background music transforms a digital invitation from "nice" to "unforgettable." Here's how it works:
Click "Browse Library" in the music field. You'll see our curated collection organised by mood: Romantic, Devotional, Celebration, Classical, and more. Click the play button to preview any track, then click "Use" to select it.
Every track in our library is either CC0 (public domain), Creative Commons licensed, or royalty-free — meaning you can use it in your AlwaysYou invitation without any additional permission or payment.
Click "Upload Audio" to upload your own audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A up to 20 MB). Before uploading, you must confirm that you have the rights to use the track.
Copyright notice: You may NOT upload commercially released songs (Bollywood, film soundtracks, or any song from a major label) without a valid licence. Purchasing a song on Spotify, Apple Music, or a physical CD does not grant you the right to publicly broadcast it. Use our royalty-free library to stay legally safe.
The music plays automatically when guests open your invitation (after their first tap). Guests can mute it anytime using the 🔊 button in the top corner.
Every AlwaysYou invitation includes a built-in RSVP screen. Guests don't need to create an account or download an app — they just fill in their name and tap "Confirm RSVP."
✅
Open RSVP
Anyone with the link can RSVP. No login required, so even less tech-savvy guests can respond.
📊
Real-time stats
See live counts of Attending / Maybe / Not Attending, plus total guest count on your management dashboard.
📱
Guest details
RSVPs include the guest's name, phone (optional), number of guests attending, dietary notes, and a personal message.
📥
CSV export
Export your full RSVP list as a spreadsheet for catering, seating, or printing.
Send your invitation at least 2 weeks before the event — give guests time to respond, especially during holiday seasons.
To prevent spam, each guest can submit 3 RSVPs per 10 minutes from the same device. This is more than enough for genuine guests.
The Wishes Wall is the final screen of every AlwaysYou invitation. Guests can leave a personal blessing or message — and all wishes are displayed for everyone to read.
Add a prompt in your invitation message: "Leave your blessings on the Wishes Wall after RSVPing!" — this dramatically increases engagement.
After sharing, visit your management dashboard at /manage/[your-invitation-id] (linked from the share page).
The dashboard has five tabs:
Quick stats (total RSVPs, attending count, guest count, wishes, views), share link, and quick actions.
Full list of RSVP responses with names, phone numbers, guest counts, dietary notes, and messages. Export as CSV.
All wishes left by guests. Delete inappropriate entries.
Change any field — venue, date, message, photo, music — at any time. Changes appear live immediately.
How many times your invitation has been opened, RSVP response breakdown, and recent activity.
You can edit your invitation at any time from the Edit tab in your management dashboard. All changes appear live — guests who open the link after your edit will see the updated version.
If the venue changes last minute, update the address and Google Maps link immediately. Guests who've already opened the invitation will see the updated details on their next visit.
Your invitation URL does not change when you edit the content. The link you already shared remains valid.
